Undergraduate Fellow Bishop Davidson Receives MU's Rising Star Scholarship

The Kinder Forum on Constitutional Democracy is pleased to announce that Bishop Davidson, a member of the Forum’s Society of Fellows, was recently awarded the prestigious “Rising Star” Scholarship by the University of Missouri College of Arts and Science. Administered by the A&S Student Council, the “Rising Star” Scholarship is given each year to two undergraduates in the College of Arts and Science whose exemplary achievements in the classroom and on campus demonstrate great potential for future success in their fields of study. A sophomore double-majoring in History and Classics, Bishops describes his current scholarly work as engaged with the evolution of Western thought, from Greco-Roman culture through the American Founding, with a particular focus on examining how history might be used “as a tool for determining our actions today.” Bishop is on schedule to graduate from MU in the fall of 2016, after which he plans to pursue a dual JD/Ph.D. in Political Science, with the ultimate goal of teaching at the college level. In the nearer term, he said he’ll use the “Rising Star” Scholarship to help fund his participation in a language immersion program this summer in France.

Raised in Republic, MO, and a graduate of Republic High School, Bishop is the son of Robin and Teresa Davidson, and brother to Cayse, Robin, Stone, Eli, Reese, and Lincoln Davidson.
