“The People, the President, and the Constitution,” 3/6 Kinder Institute and Missouri Humanities Civil Dialogues Event in St. Louis
03/06/2025
Recognizing a need for constructive discourse in a divided nation, Mizzou alumnae Jean Becker and Linda Lorelle founded the Civil Dialogues project at the beginning of 2024 with the goal of creating a safe space in which community members can gather to listen to, learn from, and engage with one another—and the democratic process—through conversations on some of the most important, contentious topics of the day.
As part of Civil Dialogues programming, Missouri Humanities will sponsor a panel discussion, titled “The People, the President, and the Constitution,” led by Kinder Institute Director Jay Sexton and moderated by Linda Lorelle. The panel will also feature MU School of Journalism Lee Hills Chair in Free Press Studies Kathy Kiely, MU Law alumnus Steven Davis (JD ’99), and current MU senior Abby Ramirez (Journalism, Constitutional Democracy). The event will take place on March 6 at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation’s .ZACK Theatre (3224 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63103). Doors open at 5:30, with programming set to commence at 6:00pm (reception to follow), and anyone interested in attending can RSVP here. In addition, anyone who can’t make the trip to St. Louis can watch a livestream of the event here (YouTube) or here (Facebook).
