October 5-6 Symposium at the Library of Congress

The Kinder Institute will partner with Penn State University’s George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center and the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress for an October 5-6 symposium on “New Directions in Women’s Political Participation from Revolution to Reconstruction.” Bringing together scholars from across the nation, and across the Atlantic, the two-day event, which will be held in DC at the Library of Congress, will explore topics ranging from “Travelers’ Views of 19th-Century Women’s Political Participation,” to “Sarah Livingston Jay and the Emergence of Women Politicians in Revolutionary New York,” to “The Gendered Politics of Manumission in Revolutionary Virginia.” A full schedule of papers can be found here, and we will update this post with news about attending.
