Fall 2019 Kinder Institute Events Programming

Colloquia, Book Launches, Lectures, and More

While we’re still months away from a full calendar for Fall 2019 events, we do have a handful of tentative save-the-dates for people to keep in mind, including

  • A September 6 lecture on “Americans and the German University System in the Nineteenth Century,” with Vanderbilt University Distinguished Chair and Professor of History David Blackbourn
  • Our annual James E. Fleming & Linda C. McClain Constitution Day Lecture with Washington University Professor of History and Law David Konig
  • A September 27 talk by University of Kansas Assistant Professor of Law and Society Brandon R. Davis
  • An October 15 visit from Oxford University (St. Catherine’s College) Professor Pekka Hämäläinen, part of our growing trans-Atlantic exchange program with Oxford
  • A November 8 book launch for University of Missouri R.B. Price Professor Emeritus of Law Carl Esbeck and Samford University Professor and Chair of History Jonathan Den Hartog’s new co-edited volume, Disestablishment and Religious Dissent: Church-State Relations in the New American States, 1776-1833, due out in November on University of Missouri Press
  • A late semester (Nov. 21) talk on “Civilians and the Laws of War: The Case of Civil War Missouri” with LSU Fred C. Frey Professor of Southern Studies and Chair of History Aaron Sheehan-Dean

We’ll create individual posts for all of the above events and more as final details roll in, and we’ll have a calendar ready and out in the mail before the start of the fall semester.
